What it all means:

The Bulls’ success on the offensive glass has declined considerably, as noted by their fading OR%. The most likely reason for this is Joakim Noah’s injury, and consequential lack of production; now the Bulls will physically be without him through the break. With fewer offensive rebounds, the Bulls’ offense will need to be more efficient to make up for less second-chances: The Bulls’ eFG% will go a long way in determining their success. In Houston, the Bulls’ eFG% was 54.6% — the second best output on the trip. This was also the game the Bulls played without Noah, although Brad Miller did more than take his place. Miller had his best game as a Bull — his best game in a long time — scoring 25 points on just 14 shots. In this game, Miller’s minutes didn’t go up a ton, played four more than average, so also expect a lot of Tyrus Thomas.

Bulls’ injury report: Jerome James is out; Taj Gibson is probable; Noah is out; and Chris Richard makes his way to the roster.

Hawks’ injury report: No injuries.

Hawks’ perspective: Hoopinion
