What it all means:
These are two bad offenses, although the Bulls have shown a more consistent pulse in the last month or so. Obviously, more of whatever it is they were doing last night won’t help their cause in Philadelphia. Andre Iguodala is the Sixers’ leading scorer, but one of their least efficient — he has an eFG% of only 45%. Also, Allen Iverson isn’t playing tonight. The 2001 version of me thinks the Bulls caught a break; the present me says, “Meh.” I mentioned the Clippers bracketing Derrick Rose on screen-rolls in the Clippers game wrap, so I’m curious how they will play it tonight. Luol Deng has been setting a lot of screens for Rose, because he is one of their few guys who can pop out and hit a jump shot. But with Iguodala on Deng, it’s not in the Bulls best interest to bring one of the league’s best perimeter defenders closer to Rose.
Bulls’ injury report: Jerome James is out. Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah are listed as probable. Noah may be probable, but he is having a lot of issues with his foot.
Sixers’ injury report: Allen Iverson is out for personal reasons; however, only people who fill out those All-Star ballots at the stadium care.
