What it all means:
Games like this are the reason why the Bulls wanted to rush Joakim Noah back — the Bulls are going to need help on the glass. Signs point to this game turning out like the Bulls’ loss to the Hawks. The Grizzlies frontcourt isn’t quite as athletic as Atlanta, but they don’t have a problem getting rebounds. Especially on the offensive end (the Grizzlies are the best in the NBA in OR%), Marc Gasol and co. dominate the glass. Without Noah, this will be quite an issue. The Bulls’ best hopes rely on their inefficient offense (third-worst in eFG%) attacking the Grizzlies’ inefficient defense (second-worst in eFG% against).
Bulls injury report: Jerome James and Joakim Noah are out; Derrick Rose and Luol Deng are probable.
Grizzlies injury report: Steven Hunter is a game-time decision; Ronnie Brewer is out.
